Situated about seven miles south of the Palm Beach Inlet, Paul’s Reef is one of the most pristine and enjoyable drift dives in Palm Beach. The main ledge, which runs north to south, begins at 54 feet and rises to 42 feet. Paul’s Cut, the most exiting part of this reef system, can be found where the reef turns to the west before making a sharp cut back to the east.
The ledge is covered in many species of gorgonians, sponges, and coral and many species of fish can be found in abundance. In the sand, divers can find countless sand dollars, helmet shells, and fighting conch shells.
Paul’s Reef makes an excellent night dive spot as numerous large parrot fish, turtles, and sharks can be found sleeping.
