Horseshoe Reef is located 10 miles south of the Palm Beach Inlet and one mile northeast of the Lake Worth Pier. This ledge system starts at 60 feet in the sand and rises quickly to 47 feet. The inside of the reef has a ten foot ledge which is undercut in many areas. The top of the reef lies beneath a thick carpet of gorgonians and sponges.

During strong currents, drift divers enjoy sailing past huge schools of fish. Hawksbill and loggerhead turtles are common on the reef during the summer.
